Choosing a HID Light Kit
All HID Light Conversion Kits are designed to retrofit virtually all vehicles with no modification. Offering eight different bulb types to convert your halogen headlights and fog lights to HID lighting. However, choosing the right HID Light Kit (also know as Xenon lights) for your car is very confusing for many people. Understanding the various HID bulb types, available HID color, regular vs slim ballast, and the output wattage does not have to be a difficult task. At Werks HID, we're here to make it easy to understand all the nuances in selecting your HID Light Kit.
Regular vs Slim Ballast
Werks HID only offer the highest quality in HID technology and after numerous testing, we choose to manufacture only the best and slimmest HID Kit available. HID slim ballast are harder to produce and they're more expensive but are well worth it. You will appreciate it when it comes to installing your HID Lighti kit which you'll be able to install in tight places and motorcycle where it may not be possible with a regular ballast. When shopping for a HID Kits, make sure you're getting a kit with slim ballasts. They are also more efficient in outputing only 35 watts.
HID Light Color:
HID Kits are available in many different colors, measured in Kelvin (K). The available color ranges from around 3000K up to 12000K. The more natural looking 5000k and 6000K HID bulbs are the most common and popular HID Kit choices and they're our best seller.
Types of HID Light Bulb
Find out the type of light bulb for your car by visiting the Sylvania guide. at: http://www.sylvania.com/ConsumerProducts/AutomotiveLighting/LampReplacementGuide/default.htm We also highly recommend looking in your owner's manual to reference the bulb type.
55w vs 35w
Werks HID highly recommend the 35w HID Light Kits which are much more efficient than the 55w version. 55w HID headlights produce lighting that are up to 40% brighter than the 35w HID headlights. However they produce more heating and are prone to damaging the electrical components as well as the wiring system of your vehicles. The added size of the ballasts also make the installation process more difficult than the 35w HIDs.
Benefits of HID Light Kit vs Stock Lighting
Upgrading your HID headlights is simply the easiest way to increase the safety and light output your car or motorcycle produces at night. When you make the switch to HID bulbs from your stock lighting, the first thing you will notice is the amazing difference in the brightness of the light. Our HID Kits produces over 80% increase in light output and over 50% more area coverage than traditional stock headlights. Our HID Light Kits are also much longer lasting – up to 10 times longer – and they're available in different colors. They will improve the visibility of both your vehicle and allow others to see you more clearly as well. This improves the safety for you and others while driving at night.
A recent trend is in LED lighting, and although LED lighting applications are useful and attractive in many instances, they don't come near creating the same level of brightness and color that is necessary for nightime driving. We highly recommend that you use LED lighting to accent your car but never use it as a head light.
Luxury Appeal
Aside from the improved safety, HIDs offer a visual appeal that exhumes a sense of luxury. In fact, Xenon headlights are standard feature on most upscale vehicles.
HID Lights are Easy to Install
